Chalet
de Launey
Chalet
de Launey is
a beautiful chalet situated in a private cul-de-sac close to the
town centre of Méribel and has encouraged unprecedented praise
and compliments since we introduced it to our programme last season.
The
seven bedrooms, six twins and one double, are superbly furnished
featuring fitted pile carpets, full sized beds and over sized feather
quilts, each has a balcony with spectacular views. All the bedrooms
have en-suite baths and the chalet provides a comfortable sauna.
The
traditional Savoyard style and vaulted ceilings decorate the living
and dinning rooms, an open log fire set in a magnificent stone chimney
warms this spacious area. A further games room with books, video
library with TV and Video, is an ideal place to relax or act as
an additional lounge for children.
Although
situated close to the town centre and bus stops the chalet has the
exclusive benefit of a rep and minibus to make the short trip to
and from the slopes each day. For those seeking the nightlife after
dinner the town centre and bars is just a 10-15 minute walk.
Cuisine
Start
your day with porridge, cereals, yoghurts and locally baked bread.
This season we have enhanced our breakfast of cooked eggs, with
a daily accompaniment of one of the following such as bacon, sausage,
tomatoes, mushrooms and beans all served with fruit juices, tea
and fresh coffee.
Shortly before dinner you will be invited to enjoy a glass of Kir
with canapes in the lounge area with your fellow guests. Your carefully
prepared dinner comprises three-courses complimented with selected
French wines followed by coffee and chocolates. The farewell dinner
Friday evening will give you a chance to sample the local cheeses
accompanied by a complimentary bottle of port.
Wednesday
is our host's day off - on this day breakfast will be laid out with
fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolate being delivered to
your chalet. Afternoon tea will be available as usual. Your hosts
or representative will be delighted to recommend and book a local
restaurant for you for the Wednesday night out.
Following
a discussion with our UK office, vegetarians and those with special
dietary needs will be catered for. Early dinner can be prepared
for younger children and toddlers on request.
