Osprey and Ptarmigan
A
low cost option in Val Thorens, these chalets boast bright and modern
furnishings with an open plan living area and wood burning stove.
Located
only 200m from the piste Osprey and Ptarmigan are are in the Val
2400 Residence in an ideal location in the Balcons area of Val Thorens.
The
ski lifts are 5 minutes walk away or you can catch the ski bus from
right outside the chalets.
Guests can use the swimming pool and sauna in the next door Altitude
building. There is a nearby pub, restaurant and ski shop.
The
appeal of Val Thorens is quite straightforward. Even in the worst
snow winters, skiing here is guaranteed. The village, the highest
in Europe, is higher than many mountains and resort level snow is
normal. There are 3 glaciers and hundreds of snow cannons.
Anyone can ski here, the very exciting, space-age skiing offers
keen skiers the ultimate; every kind of lift, amazing piste variety,
and immense scope. For the more advanced skiers there are huge moguls,
fabulous powder and a 150 person cable car which whisks you to 10,500ft
at incredible speed for high altitude cruising and unbelievable
views. There is little queuing. The lift system connects Les Menuires,
Meribel and Courchevel. The village is modern but tasteful, lively
and well equipped. The village is car-free, compact and efficient.
